Izzy got a new car for Christmas! She loves it. Of course she's too little to drive by herself so there's a handle for us to push her around. If it's too cold outside we push her around the house. It's great when she's getting into everything, I just strap her in and take her around the house to do chores. We go to the laundry room to fold clothes, then to her room to pick up toys, etc. She thinks we're "running errands" around the house and I can get stuff done without her undoing everything. Emma got some car seat toys and a new radio for her room so she can listen to music at night. Santa brought lots of other little things too. They must have been really good girls this year.
Izzy is 16 months old now and really doing new things everyday. She just started saying a few more words: Abba (Emma), belly button, apple, purple, Robert and kaka (Kate). Of course they all don't sound exactly like the word, but they are close enough for me to know what she is saying. She still wants to help with her sister a lot. She is now taking 1 nap a day for about 2-3 hours. She goes to bed at night with no problem. She'll pretty much eat anything we put in front of her. Matt thinks she may be a little over weight...it could be all the cookies I give her :) I think she's just compact. She loves to play outside and kick a ball.
Emma is 2 months old and getting bigger everyday. She is such a good baby. She has been smiling a lot and has started playing with toys that hang from her glider. She takes great naps and sleeps very well at night. She has slept through the night 2 times, but usually wakes up once at night. Izzy was already sleeping through the night by now so I'm hoping Emma will do it soon. But waking up once isn't that bad.
The house is slowly coming together. I think I paint a new room everyday. Matt thinks I'm nuts! It just won't feel totally like home until everything is the way I want it. I'll put pictures on here as soon as it's done. I promise to update more often. I'm finally getting the swing of this 2 kids thing.
Ok, let's add another word to Izzy's list: llama! She's watching Diego right now and he just asked her to say llama and she did! Alright, that's all for now.
Well, I'm 30! I can't believe I'm no longer in my 20's. Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it. It does make me feel better that Matt will be 32 in a few weeks. Ha! Izzy is almost 17 months old. I took her to get her first "real" haircut last week. We've cut her hair about 8 times already, but we've never taken her to someone who really knows what they are doing. She was a little scared at first, but she settled down quickly. She got to sit in a Barbie Jeep and watch Elmo cartoons while her hair was being cut. It was great. Now she doesn't look so shaggy. Emma's hair is still out of control. I'm not quite sure what to do with it. It's always sticking up or in a mohawk type style. Izzy is repeating new words everyday. Her favorite word is "No". She answers any question you ask her with no. She can now say Emma perfectly, but she still calls her Abba from time to time. When Emma wakes up from her naps and starts crying, Izzy runs to her door saying Abba, Abba. She pushes on the door until I come to open it. It is very cute. She LOVES her sister. She still tries to wipe her mouth when she spits up and puts her paci in her mouth when Emma spits it out. Emma rolled over from her stomach to her back at her doctors appt 2 weeks ago. She now weighs 11 lbs and is getting so big. She smiles all the time and is starting to coo a lot more. She is still spitting up ALOT!!! I don't know why my children spit up so much. Just like when Izzy was a baby we can't hold Emma without having a towel draped over us. I go through all of my burp cloths and receiving blankets daily. Izzy quit spitting up around 5 months...only 3 months to go, hopefully. Emma is sleeping through the night from about 9pm-7am. Finally Matt and I can get some sleep too!
