Today was Izzy's 6 month check-up! She weighs 13 lbs 13 oz, is 24 1/2 inches long and her head is 16 inches. She's petite alright! Dr. Yukon was very impressed with her sitting up and rolling over. He said she looks great and is developmentally on the right track. He said we can start giving her 2nd foods and as soon as she gets the pincher grasp down she can start feeding herself pick-up style foods. She has been eating well, and playing much more, especially in the bathtub! She LOVES to splash. She reaches for us to pick her up! She is still sucking her two middle fingers with her palm facing out. No teeth yet, but she is very oral...she always wants to put our hands in her mouth. She has been getting silly during nap time. I'll put her in her bed with her head to the north and when I go to get her up she's facing south. I usually find her sideways with all of her stuffed animals on top of her...I know that's not very safe, I need to take them out of her bed. She definitely has the "stomach to back" roll over down, and is really working hard on the "back to stomach" roll over, but her arms keep getting in the way. She's done it a few times, but she usually gets half way over and then gives up. We go back to the doctor in 3 months!
